Compulsory CAC Registration for all POS Operators: CBN Directive

In a bid to enhance transparency and combat fraudulent activities in the digital payment sector, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has mandated all Point of Sale (POS) operators to undergo registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). This directive comes as part of the CBN’s efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure compliance within the rapidly evolving financial technology landscape.

The decision to require CAC registration for POS operators stems from the need to establish a formalized framework for their operations.
