At the inception of a two-day retreat organized by the Ministry of Finance at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Mr. Olabode Agoro, the Head of Service for Lagos State, communicated the imperative of integrating technology to boost the state’s revenue. Represented by Kamar Olowoshago, Permanent Secretary of the Lands Bureau, Mr. Agoro emphasized the pivotal role of technology in driving revenue for Lagos State.
The discourse further delved into the need for fostering a robust revenue drive initiative through strategic partnerships and collaborations. Mr. Agoro stressed the importance of a smart, innovative, and proactive approach across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to augment revenue. Essential components for achieving success in revenue generation, as highlighted by Mr. Agoro, encompass embracing technological advancements and conducting a thorough analysis of market trends to understand and anticipate customer needs.
“As a government establishment, the attainment of a successful revenue drive mandates prioritizing data-driven and effective decision-making. The strategic use of data enhances our ability to identify opportunities, optimize processes, and maintain a competitive edge. Our adaptability and capacity to thrive hinge on a strategic approach to revenue generation,” he further emphasized, underscoring the critical role of technology in shaping the financial future of Lagos State.
